The Global Teenager Project Newsletter of the "MDGs"   Phase 4: Research
Week 5: 19 - 25 March 2012
Dear friends,
Time flies, already the second week of research and answers; make sure to continue to work on the research and feel free to post drafts of the answers on the partners' Question and Answers pages as you complete them.
Update of the Learning Circle
Here is  the Learning Circle update. Almost all questions are now posted on the individual Questions and Answer pages page. Hope to read question from MDG2 as soon as possible. This group changed a teacher so there is a delay with their postings
Agenda for the week
This week marks the second week of responding to sponsored questions.
The process will take 3 more weeks to complete. During that time you can use the space dedicated for your post to start working with your students on their research answers - you can leave a note saying: work in progress - which you can delete once your students have completed their research answer. This way we can all keep track of the progress of the LC - it will also add pep and excitement as students will see the answers on the sponsored question in the making.
Important Information
Criteria for quality answers:
  • answers are posted on time
  • clear definition without possible misinterpretation, taking into consideration cultural differences
  • the answer always starts with repeating the question.
  • answers should reflect that research has been done and should consist of clear references, mention (re)sources used showing research that has been done
  • It's OK to use Google for research, yet stimulate students to process what they have found and mention the source of their finding by adding the URL or other source
  • post photos, diagrams, tables, presentations or others which can illustrate you research
  •  the minimum number of words should be for a Research Based  LC - 250 words in one answer
We wish you lots of learning and fun during this Learning Circle, Natasha Cherednichenko
